Our mission
Our mission is to improve and advance the quality of life for Black and Brown children and their families in Florida through education and advocacy

Our impact
In fiscal year 2024, BCDI-Miami made significant strides in advancing equity and opportunity for more than 4,000 Black and Brown children and 300 families across Florida. As a fully volunteer-led Village, the organization delivered impactful programming aligned with the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) Eight Essential Outcomes, including Read to Succeed, Family Empowerment, and Good for Me!, while leading local initiatives focused on literacy, health, housing equity, and safe communities, with strategic partnerships spanning five counties, Miami-Dade, Broward, Leon, Alachua, and Orange. BCDI-Miami deepened its influence through community-based research, education, and advocacy.
